But on the first day of her senior year of high school, she finds herself irresistibly drawn to a transfer student named Micah Condie. At first glance, Micah seems like a boy that most girls would dream about. But when Hope's powers allow her to discover Micah's darkest secret, she quickly becomes entangled in the lives of mythical entities she never dreamed existed. Was this her destiny all along? And will her powers help her survive the evil of the Demon Impiorum?

Mythology isn’t just for English class anymore.

MYTHOLOGY: THE WICKED

(Mythology #2)

A demon with a pure heart, Micah Condie lives his life by a code of ethics, but breaking that code may be the only way for him to survive. A supernatural entity in her own right, Hope Gentry would do anything in her power to protect her loved ones, but she may be the one who puts them in peril.

When the Demon Impiorum challenges the laws that keep guardians and demons in balance, ancient enforcers of justice intervene. Micah, Hope, and their mentor Jonathan become entangled in a conspiracy that will test even the deepest love and trust.

Someone will commit an act of betrayal. Someone will forever abandon a loved one.

Someone will enter THE WICKED.

Demon Days 7: Shadow Spinner by Andrew Leon

Tiberius has always thought of himself as a normal 10-year-old boy. Maybe he's a little smarter than everyone else, but that's still normal. He's scared of shadows, but everyone's scared of something, right? His mother's completely paranoid and called the cops the one time, just one time, he went over to a friend's house after school, but, still, he's normal even if his mother is not. At least, that's what he thinks until the day his mother finally decides to tell him about his father, and she tells him things that convince him that one of them is crazy, and he's pretty sure it's not him.

That is until the Man with No Eyes shows up and his father falls out of the sky.

Interview . . .

What inspired me to write Shadow Spinner?

That's actually a convoluted question. Initially, I just wanted to write a story about a kid dealing with a common-type fear. Tib is scared of shadows, which isn't actually common, but I wanted it to have a unique spin and not just be "scared of the dark." Then, I needed to write a different short story for a writing group I was involved with at the time, so I wrote a story, because Tib was on my mind, about Tib's mother. As it turned out, Tib's mother ended up being a character from a then unfinished story from several years prior, "The Evil That Men Do." That took Tib off in a completely different direction than just being a boy scared of shadows. Around the same time, I started teaching a creative writing class at my kids' school, so I thought I would write more short stories about Tib to go along with the assignments that I was giving the kids to show them, "hey, I'm doing these, too." It grew into the book from that, and Spinner is dedicated to that group of kids.

What is my favorite part of writing?

Well... not the editing, that's for sure. Having done it? No, that's not it, either, although I do really like it when I have a completed project in front of me. I guess just the doing of it. Working out the story. Pounding it into shape. And, sometimes, that's what it feels like I'm doing, pounding it into shape.

Which character from one of my own books would I be?

Man, I don't even know. See, I know what's coming up for all of the characters that I'm working on, right now, and I don't think there is a single one of them I would choose to step into.

Shadow Spinner theme song?

Hmm... I really don't know. Nothing is coming to mind at all, and I don't really listen to the kind of music that most people would probably associate with the kind of story that Spinner is. Maybe, though, "The Devil Went Down To Georgia," which might seem like an odd choice, but, if you read the whole book, I think it makes sense.

And you thought Emmy’s life was a hot mess before…

Jack’s gone off to Arizona with his brother, but for how long? Emmy doesn’t have a clue. In his place, though, is Zachary. The whiny, miserable, alpha wolf–boy who is more than ready to take on the duty of her mate/boyfriend — if she’d let him, that is. But the last thing Emmy wants is to deal with a boy who believes that the world should fall solely at his feet whenever he demands it.

But hey, at least her step–douche is gone, and her life is back to an almost normal sense, right?

Wrong again, Emmy’s life will never again be normal…

With her Uncle Prick in town and her best friend acting as secretive as ever, Emmy finds new challenges to overcome — challenges that no seventeen–year–old girl should ever have to deal with. For one thing, what is up with her dream–liaison status anyway? What does it mean, really? And why does her little brother have to go through it too? And then there’s her mom. The lady is acting a tad bit odd, to put it nicely. After all these years, she finally wants to step up and be a parental figure? Heck no! Emmy’s definitely not copacetic with that idea.

But with the bad, there’s got to be some good out there for her somewhere, right?

Add in the wolves, witches, drama, and lots of kisses and you get Emmy the Extraordinaire, the girl with strawberry–colored hair, and a chip on her shoulder. She’s finally on her way to finding out what her life and her future both have in store for her, even if the road to getting there is nowhere near as easy as she hoped it would be. But Emmy is tough, and more than ready to take on life with her bare hands.

It’s just too bad she’s madly, desperately, insanely in love with a boy who insists on making her life both a miserable hell and utter perfection at the same time.

Heather Van Fleet currently reside in northern Illinois, with her three little ladies, and fabulous hubby, and high school sweetheart, Chris. She’s a stay at home mom by day, and an avid and completely obsessive writer and reader by night.

She’s always had a soft spot in her heart for books, and has been creating her own little stories since the age of seven. But she never really had the confidence or the time to actually sit down and really do something about it until her youngest daughter Isabella was born just two years ago. Bella, as well as her older sisters Kelsey and Emma, are and always will be her greatest inspirations.

Demon Days 6: Family Magic by Patti Larsen

Her mom's a witch.

Her dad's a demon.
And she just wants to be ordinary.

I batted at the curl of smoke drifting off the tip of my candle and tried not to sneeze. My heavy velvet cloak fell in oppressive, suffocating folds in the closed space of the ceremony chamber, the cowl trapping the annoying bits of puff I missed. I hated the way my eyes burned and teared, an almost constant distraction. Not that I didn't welcome the distraction, to be honest. Anything to take my mind from what went on around me.

Being part of a demon raising is way less exciting than it sounds.

Sydlynn Hayle's life couldn't be more complicated. Trying to please her coven, starting over in a new town, and fending off a bully cheerleader who hates her are just the beginning of her troubles. What to do when delicious football hero Brad Peters--boyfriend of her cheer nemesis--shows interest? If only the darkly yummy witch, Quaid Moromond, didn't make it so difficult for her to focus on fitting in with the normal kids. Add to that her crazy grandmother's constant escapes driving her family to the brink and Syd's between a rock and a coven site. Forced to take on power she doesn't want to protect a coven who blames her for everything, only she can save her family's magic.

If her family's distrust doesn't destroy her first.

Interview . . .

What inspired you to write Family Magic?

I hadn’t written a novel in years, had changed my focus to screenplays and making movies. But when my niece encouraged me to read Harry Potter, I realized the books I’d been writing had been in the wrong genre. I began to devour young adult fiction and, shortly after finishing the Harry Potter series, I decided to give writing novels one more chance. Literally that very night I woke at about 2:30 in the morning with a girl’s voice in my head. She badgered me to get up and go to my office, to write down what she had to say: My mom’s a witch, my dad’s a demon and I want to be ordinary.

Sydlynn Hayle hasn’t really be quiet since.

What is your favorite part of writing?

I have to pick one? I love all of it, really. But I suppose if I had to choose, it would be outlining. I love coming up with the flow of the story, creating the bones I can then flesh out when I sit down to actually write the thing. I know outlining isn’t for everyone, but it excites me to know I have a solid plan to follow from book one all the way to the end of the series.

If you had to be a character in your own books, which character would you be?

Syd Hayle, hands down, no question. I love her spunk and quirkiness, her droll sarcasm and fearless impulsiveness. She’s the teen girl I always wanted to be. Plus, she has witch magic and is half demon. What’s not to love?

If you had to give “Family Magic” a theme song, what would the song be?

I know this is a little girl’s song, but it fits Syd’s personality so very well: The Princess Who Saved Herself, by Jonathan Coulton (embed code from Youtube: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/T9KvA2eWjwY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>). I love this song SO MUCH. Syd’s that kind of empowering character who does what she has to no matter what.

Demon Days 5: Kursed by Elizabeth Mueller

Gothic outcast Talon Grey falls in love with geeky Thena Larsen, and he could only hope that she will still love him after he stumbles onto an ancient family curse that mutates him into a soul-eating demon.

CLICK HERE to Read Kursed FREE until published.

Elizabeth Mueller has found that losing herself in her writing helps find herself in real life. She discovered this piece of heaven at nine. At first, it was just a hobby until she hit the ripe old age of 34 when she discovered that she could actually publish the books she’d been escaping into! She is the mother of five very creative kids, two cats, two turtles, two fish, and a puppy named Amber. She really enjoys writing books that leave you feeling inspired, thoughtful, and hungry for more.

Darkspell YA Paranormal Romance is her first book. Watch for Kursed, Eros, Hidden, Rockstar, Baby's Breath, and more to come!

Interview . . .

What inspired you to write Kursed?

A blogger believing that my first book, Darkspell--also a YA Paranormal Romance--was written through the point of view of a guy! Yes, that means a 17 year old guy is telling his story on how an ancient family curse changed him. I had so much fun putting Talon through so much!

What is your favorite part of writing?

In Kursed, it was putting Talon Grey, the point of view character, through a meat grinder of problems! But in general, I really love it when the characters jump to life and take control of the story.

If you had to be a character in your own books, which character would you be?

Oh, what a loaded question! I would have to say Athikah from my fantasy romance novel, Khandra's Mists. She's a powerful warrior with a few aliases and helps her enemy prince recapture his lost kingdom!

If you had to give "Kursed" a theme song, what would the song be?

Your Guardian Angel by Red Jumpsuit Apparatus! A deleted scene has Talon singing it out loud to Thena on his 18th birthday before everyone came to his rave. I wasn't sure if writing the lyrics in a published book was acceptable!

Demon Days 4: Relics by Maer Wilson

Most of Thulu and La Fi's clients are dead. Which is perfect since their detective agency caters to the supernatural. So, a job finding relics for an ancient daemon should be simple.

The daemon needs the relics to keep a dangerous portal closed. His enemy, Gabriel, wants the relics to open the portal and give his people access to a new feeding ground – Earth. Stunning humanity with their existence, portals to other worlds begin to open and the creatures of magic return to Earth.

When Gabriel threatens their family, Thulu and La Fi's search becomes personal. The couple will need powerful allies in the race to find the relics before Gabriel does. But maybe that's what grateful dead, magical allies and daemonic clients are for. When the creatures of myth and magic return to Earth, they're nothing like your mother's fairy tales.

After a successful career being other people, and later teaching others the many tricks of that trade, Maer Wilson has decided to be herself for a while. Turns out she's a writer. She's always loved stories, especially fantasy, mystery and sci fi. Maer was born in the Year of the Dragon and has a dragon-themed room in her home, but sadly no dragons in the back yard. When she's not writing, Maer plays online video games, teaches college and reads. She also co-hosts the literary podcast, “MythBehaving” and writes for two gaming fan sites. She lives in the high desert of Southern Nevada with her two dogs, a chihuahua and a poodle. Relics is her first novel and is currently available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. You can find her new prequel “Ghost Memory” at Amazon and Smashwords. You can visit her website at maerwilson.com.

Interview . . .

What inspired you to write Relics?

The names of the main characters, Thulu and La Fi, sparked their backstory, who they are and what they do. I’d never written a novel before and decided to just give it a go and see what happened. The story wanted out so much, it only took me five weeks to write a first draft. Of course, I then spent about a year revising. I took the second half of the novel and threw it out and started from scratch, which gave me a much better story.

What is your favorite part of writing?

Creating the story, the actual writing of that first draft. I love almost every aspect of the process, including editing, but that first visit into their world is always extra special for me.

If you had to be a character in your own books, which character would you be?

I have some characters that I think would be pretty fun to be, so this is a tough choice. I think in honor of Demon Days, I’ll pick Tyler Jones, the eight thousand year old daemon from the series. While daemons are completely different from demons and should not be confused with them, he’s got his dark side. However, he can also be very benevolent. We don’t know a lot about his powers, yet, so finding those out would be fun.

If you had to give "Relics" a theme song, what would the song be?

I listen to instrumental music when I write and not actual songs with lyrics. So nothing much song-wise springs to mind. However, I almost always have instrumental music from film or gaming soundtracks that inspire me while I’m writing. There’s one that makes me think of Relics whenever I hear it, even though I discovered it during the writing of book 2 in the series. It’s the piece, “Blackheart” from the album Skyworld by Two Steps from Hell.
