Keep Calm and Write On

Lately, more then ever I have been blogging and networking trying to promote my blog and get connected so that once I am published I will be well connected.
I want to get published very much and I think if I just wrote, edited and re-edited my book and then sent it to my beta readers,  I would be off to a good start.

But. . .

I realized that I am so worried about getting connected with the world so that when I get published, I will have people reading my books that I'm not working on my book.  If there is no book to be read,  there is no book to promote.  If there is no need to promote my book, there is no need to even worry about networking for it.

So, my goal this week is to WRITE!
Yes I will still be around online, and I will probably blog a couple times this week.  But I need to get my darn book finished.  I've only been working on it for six years!
And now I am going back to writing!

Reminders:
Video Challenge going on at A to Z.
A to Z now has an official Facebook page.  Check it out HERE.
Don't forget to answer the poll on the sidebar.  (Are you participating in the A to Z April Challenge?)
Pay it Forward giveaway going on HERE (on my blog).

Now I am actually going back to writing!

  1. That's why a balance is important. And since I have a book I am writing AND one to promote really soon, it's a heck of a balancing act.

    1. Good luck with that! Hopefully I will be to that point one day soon.

  2. It is a bit of a Catch 22. Blogging is really positive, but needs to be kept in check to stop from taking over! It's more about the relationships for me at the moment, and the sense of camaraderie which I find really helps me when writing, whereas before I worked in a void. And of course there's all the useful tips that can be picked up.

    Good luck with your book!

    1. Indeed. I had no idea it would be so time consuming when I started blogging. Now it's about all I do. I am changing that though. I try to limit myself everyday. I have started turning off the internet while writing so I don't get tempted to come blog some more.

Thanks very much! I think I may need it.

  3. I keep saying that I going to write what I need to be writing and then I get carried away with blogging. Well, I guess that's good too.
Balance can be difficult when one has too many things going.

    1. Yes it can. And when writer's block hits hard it makes it all worse. Here I am trying to balance everything out and I can't because I can't write. Nothing is working on any of my current projects.

Oh well. At least I got to comment on a lot of other blogs this evening.

    1. I'm not sure if I should be glad or feel bad that I am not the only one with this problem. . .
