Relaunching - The Why and How

~ The Why

September 27th, 2013. My debut, Only Half Alive, released out into the world. I was proud of the book. I wrote it and published it. I accomplished something so many people told me I never would.

I'm often asked, "If you could give your younger self-advice, what would it be?" And my answer is, "Wait. Learn more about the craft. Learn how to market. Do the work."

I made every rookie mistake possible. The writing wasn't great. The story contained too many plotholes to count. Contradictions, character flaws (and not the kind that help readers relate to them), magic plot-solving. Oh, and umm ... yeah apparently I wrote a character in that is literally in two scenes and never mentioned again. Oops. My bad.

Then there is the great KU vs Wide debate. For those not familiar with what that means, here is the break down:

KU = Kindle Unlimited. Amazon's exclusive program where authors get paid per page read.
Wide = Books available on multiple sites such as Amazon, iBooks, Google Play, Kobo, and more.

There are pros and cons to both and each author must decide for themselves the best route to take.

Up until this year I have been exclusive to Amazon. All of my books were in the Kindle Unlimited program. But sadly the cons for me personally outweigh the pros. So it was time to change things.

So there it is ... my books need an update, and it's time to go wide.

~ The How ~

Right now I have eight books published, all in uncompleted series.

The Only Series - 2/5 Books Available
1. Only Half Alive
2. Only Barely Dead

The Finding Gold Series - 4/8 Books Available
1. Missing Royal
2. The Enchanted Rose
3. Once Upon an Assassin
4. Beauty's Thief

The Eclipsed Series - 1/3 Books Available
1. Magic Me This

Stand-Alone's -
- Curse of the Undead Dragon King

On May 8th they will be removed from Amazon and the current versions of those books will no longer be available for purchase.

Each book will be thoroughly edited and revised. They will undergo one initial round of revisions before heading to my content editor for three rounds of development. After that, they will be handed over to the line editor.

There will be brand new content, better content, but the same stories readers have already fallen in love with.

Then comes time to re-release the books.

Unlike before, they won't be published in a random and sporadic order. Take a look at the schedule for the next year!

I am ecstatic for all the changes! And I hope you are too! Feel free to comment with your thoughts and/or questions!
