Kraken, a creature I associate with Pirates of the Caribbean/ Jack Sparrow.
But a mythical creature it is and so it made it on the list.
The Kraken is huge, has a large number of tentacles and fins extending from its body and is also. . . (you guessed it) EVIL! Its favorite trick is to swim beneath ships and pull them under water!
I remember seeing the original Clash of the Titans and thinking how the Kraken resembled a cross between Godzilla and an alien. I had studied enough mythology to know it should have looked more like this.

That's funny. It's always good to know the truth and see how much Hollywood gets things wrong.
DeleteThere was a time when Kraken terrified me. They're still creepy but that's much better for me.
ReplyDeleteThe Kraken is not a creature I want to cross paths with, that's for sure!
DeleteI am learning so much from reading your blog! Keep it up...

:) For sure. .
DeleteI could have focused on a Kraken at my blog today. Would have been perfect. However, one of my alien friends is having emotional problems. So he's my focus today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post!

Kraken are funny things. Freaky and yet so strange they don't seem real at all, especially once they go beyond a certain size.
ReplyDeleteAnd I loved the first Clash of the Titans (bad special effects and all) and the fact that they put the owl in the new one, too!

I haven't seen Wrath of the Titans (old or new) but after reading about it in the comments, I guess I need to now. .
DeleteI hear this creature often mentioned in a movie clip that says, "Release the Kraken". Haven't seen the Pirates movies or the Titans movies.

I love 'Pirates' four. Haven't seen Titans though. And yes, that phrase is used a lot.
DeleteScary! And interesting....
ReplyDeleteAgreed on both accounts.
