Yaguarogui

Yaguarogui, not a creature you typically hear about.  But once I read more about this fun creature, I decided he was worthy of the A to Z challenge.  :)
Yaguarogui comes from Bolivian myth.  Known as a green tiger who is the cause of eclipses.  This tiger is continuously trying to eat the sun but because of the heat, he ends up spitting each bite right back out. (What I want to know is, how does he get close enough to the sun to bite it?)

  1. I was wondering the same thing about the sun.

    1. :) Kind of an odd fact. I am thinking of doing more, deeper research into this creature. Possibly using him in a novel.

  2. Cute. As soon as you talked about eating the sun, I thought of Icharus (the one who flew too close to the sun, I believe, and his wax wings melted). Great post :)

  4. Not to mention the sun is a ball of gas so even chomping at it you wouldn't get much now would you? ha ha ha a green tiger however is pretty darn cool!

    1. True. That fact hadn't even crossed my mind when I posted this. It just seems silly that a cool tiger would do something so. . . stupid?
