After Seven Years

I know this is random and I've already blogged once today but I just HAVE to share this!!!

Seven years ago I had this crazy idea for a story. And I knew it would be difficult to write. I knew it would take a long time. I knew that it had to be done right. And so for seven years I thought about it while working on other projects. I would write down ideas, and take notes. Let scenes play over and over again in my head and even occasionally tried to write scenes out.

I finally finished my first novel. Wrote it, edited, submitted to a publisher. And the second it was gone all I could think about was "What do I write next?"

It took a few weeks. But one day I just knew. I knew that this story, this book was meant to be put out. That I needed to write this one story that has been begging me to write it for seven years now.

Today I am writing one of the most important chapters of that book. And I am already 15,000 words into the story. This moment, this day is so important to me. Because after seven years, one of my dreams is finally coming to life!

  1. I think that writing the book is important. What if it just floated around in your head and you never wrote the words?

    1. It is! And it feels so wonderful to finally have it written down. To finally see this book coming together after so long of dreaming about it!

I can't imagine never writing this story. This book means everything to me.

  2. Hi Konstanz. After having read that interesting Q & A on the A to Z blog, I just had to come here. I know what you mean about writing the most important chapter. Feels great to get it down on paper (or computer screen), doesn't it? Good luck, and all the best.

    1. Aww thank you!! So glad you stopped by! Yes, yes it does. This is the most amazing moment in my writing ever! I feel incredible, I feel alive! And I know that might sound funny but it is the truth. Right now, working on this book, nothing else matters. All the stress in my life has disappeared, even if only just for this little while I am writing.

  3. Wonderful to have that feeling. I'm writing more and more children's books, but I have that book for grown-ups that I'd like to complete, but never have the time. Very envious that you are enjoying the writing process so much.

    1. Yes it is, one of the best feelings in the world! I admire your ability to write children's books. I have tried and just can't do it, I don't know why. Thank you! Don't be envious, the time will come and you can have that too! :D

  4. K.,
This is SO AMAZING! I'm so excited for you girlfriend! Keep writing, enjoy the moment! Wow. My first book is 17,000 some words after last year's NaNoWriMo...and so unorganized...I'm the worst pantser ever.
Enjoyed the review I read last time I was here and Windows 8 crashed in the middle of my comment...come back, new post. Her book isn't exactly my genre...but I did like the excerpt and the concept.
By the way, if you're one of the people involved, there is no such thing as too much kissing ;-)

    1. Thank you, thank you!! I am so excited to share this book with the world! Ahhh!

And yeah, this post was kinda like "Ahhh I'm going to post it right now because I can't wait and I want this moment documented" :D

As for the review, I hate it when things crash. Always horrible.

Kissing? Well that isn't exactly my area of expertise, I really wouldn't know about that. :D Going on 20, never been kissed! But good to know!
