Feeling like a real author!

I've always told myself that I am a real author. Just because I'm not published doesn't mean I'm not an author. It just means that my book isn't out there yet. I am still an author, I still write stories, I still create worlds.

Well yesterday I got to do something that kinda changes my opinion  Not really, but it does make me feel more like an author. And more than that, I feel like all this work is paying off!  I joined the Goodreads Author program and added my book on there.

If you added it, I would greatly appreciate it!!! But don't feel obligated to. *Smiles*

So now I would like to know, what makes you feel like a "real" author? What is your validation? Do you believe you are an author even though you aren't published? At what point on your road to publication did you begin to really feel like an author?

  1. Congratulations. I have a short story coming out but I still feel like a wannabe author. Not sure why.

  2. Sometimes it takes awhile to feel like a real author. I do now but it probably wasn't until my second book came out. Congrats on your book! What a very exciting time for you!
