One princess destroyed the world. One princess must save it.
When Shanice was little, she wished to be a princess. Now as a teenager, she just wishes she fit in. But Shanice doesn't feel like she belongs—she never has.
When her parents tell her she is the last known princess from another world, it all makes sense—a world full of magic in place of technology, one where she is more than just royalty. She is their last chance to stop the one who is bent on destroying it: Mendina.
But she can't do it alone. First, she must find the other missing royals. In her quest, Shanice will be forced to choose between the course prophecy set for her and the one that leads to the man who possesses her heart.

~ The Story Behind the Name ~
There's a song called Gold by Britt Nicole. And the series name all starts there. While writing I discovered that many of my books took place in the same kind of setting. Seven books to be exact. I realized that rather than write seven stand alone's I would turn them into a series.
Once the idea struck, it was stuck. Each of these stories somehow relates or is a re-telling of other Fairy Tales. And each one somehow involves someone of royalty and someone who isn't fighting together for what's right.
I realized that somehow each story taught certain values, had a message that needed to be shared beyond the story. And while I wrote out the entire line up for all seven books I listened to one song. Gold.
To give you a better idea of why this song kept playing whilst writing the plots for each book, here are the lyrics to the song:
~ Gold by Britt Nicole ~
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
You were walking on the moon, now you're feeling low
What they said wasn't true, you're beautiful
Sticks and stones break your bones, I know what you're feeling
Words like those won't steal your glow, you're one in a million
This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world
Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high, it's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold
(Gold gold, you're gold)
You're worth more than gold
(Gold gold, you're gold)
Well everybody keeps score, afraid you're gonna lose
Just ignore they don't know the real you
All the rain in the sky can't put out your fire
Of all the stars out tonight, you shine brighter
This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world
Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold
So hold your head up high, it's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold
(Gold gold, you're gold)
You're worth more than gold
(Gold gold, you're gold)
So don't let anybody tell you that you're not loved
And don't let anybody tell you that you're not enough
Yeah there are days that we all feel like we're messed up
But the truth is that we're all diamonds in the rough
So don't be ashamed to wear your crown
You're a king you're a queen inside and out
You glow like the moon, you shine like the stars
This is for you, wherever you are
Oh, oh, yeah, yeah, oh, oh,
You're gold
This, this is for all the girls, boys all over the world
Whatever you've been told, you're worth more than gold
(So hold your head) So hold your head up high,
It's your time to shine
From the inside out it shows, you're worth more than gold
(gold gold, you're gold)
You're worth more than gold
(gold gold you're gold)
So don't be ashamed to wear your crown

It fit so perfectly with each story. One royal, one not so royal. Fighting for right, proving their worth, they are Finding Gold. Not gold as in riches. But their worth. This song explains it all!
