Please welcome Ali Cross, author of Become. Ali Cross is the sensei of the Writer's Dojo where she holds a black belt in awesome. She lives in Utah with her kickin' husband, two sparring sons, one ninja cat, two sumo dogs and four zen turtles.  After reading this ninjarrific interview,  read about Ali's book and how you can win a copy.

Konstanz: What's your greatest inspiration as a writer?

Ali: My own twisted mind combined with random songs on the radio.

Konstanz: Dragon or Pegasus?

Ali: Pegasus. Or dragon. Wait. I love horses which makes me think PEGASUS, but then I'm a huge fan of the DragonSinger of Pern series so . . . dragons. Yeah. Dragons. :)

Konstanz: Describe your ideal date with Harry Potter.

Ali: Sadly, I never would have said YES to HP. Now if George had asked me out . . .

Konstanz: If you were asked to give the keynote address at a writers conference,  what would your topic be?

Ali: How to write a novel NINJA STYLE!!

Konstanz:  Do you listen to music while you writer?  (If yes,  what kind of music?  If no, why not?)

Ali: Absolutely YES! I almost always listen to music, but WHAT I listen to depends on the story I'm writing. DESOLATION? Pandora on an Evanescence station. THE SWIFT? Pandora on a Stan Rogers station.

Konstanz: Hot Cocoa or Apple Cider?

Ali: Hot Chocolate for sure!

The book:

Sixteen-year old Desolation Black wants nothing more than to stay in Hell where it’s cold and lonely and totally predictable. Instead, she’s sent back to Earth where she must face the evil she despises and the good she always feared.

When Desi is forced to embrace her inner demon, she assumes her choice has been made—that she has no hope of being anything other than what her father, Lucifer, has created her to be. What she doesn’t count on, is finding a reason to change—something she’s never had before—a friend.
