Twelve Books for Christmas

Please welcome Willow Cross, author of The Dark Gifts: Birthright.  After reading this fun interview,  read about the wonderful book and how you can win a copy!

Konstanz: Describe your ideal date with Smeagull (Lord of the Rings)

Willow: The date would begin in the early morning hours.  Possibly around 4am.  I'd definitely want him to be a bit drowsy.  Before the sun breaks over the horizon we'll head down to the river with some candles and a picnic basket.  We'll have a little wine, talk about how wonderful he is, and when I'm certain he's completely into me, I'll cut his heart out.  If it wasn't for Smeagull none of the terrible things would have happened to poor Frodo.  I'd only date him with intent to kill. LOL

Konstanz: What is your biggest fear as a writer?

Willow: Wow!  Well if I'm going to be honest, I'd say my biggest fear is that I'm not any good. LOL  At times, hidden in the back of my mind, there's this little voice that whispers, "They're just being nice to you.  You don't really have any talent."  It's not very loud and it doesn't last too very long, but it's there.

Konstanz: What's your greatest inspiration as a writer?

Willow: I don't have one certain inspiration.  Nearly anything can inspire me to write a story.  Just yesterday I was joking with a friend and out of this oddball conversation came a story idea that I'm really attached to.  I quickly jotted down some notes and it's on my TBW (To be written) list.

Konstanz: Pen or Pencil?

Willow: Computer.  It would take me years to write a novel if I used either of those. LOL

Konstanz: Who has been your greatest support?

Willow: My best friend Pam.  When that ‘voice' rears its ugly little head I call her.  She always knows how to make it go away.

Konstanz: Favorite reindeer?

Willow: Dancer!

The book:
Birthright cover 3.jpg

Throughout the ages, druids have passed down a prophecy from one generation to the next. A girl, born of a witch clan, will become vampyre and spark a war that will divide the vampire nation. This young woman will either save humanity from vampire reign, or be the end of it. Although she’s never heard the prophecy, and doesn’t believe in witchcraft, Liz Markum is that woman.

Working with her maker, Michael, and the remaining members of the warring Vampire Council, Liz must defeat the darkness inside her and learn to become more than a killer vampire. She must become a vampire killer.
