The world against dragons. One girl against the world.

There are dragons in the Arizona Mountains, and only Alita Drake knows it. No one believed her at three years old when she stumbled across them during a family picnic. They certainly wouldn’t believe her now.

Not that she’s allowed to tell anyone anyway—her dragon, Yackros, made that clear. The other dragons can never know about the human who now visits their hidden forest, and humans aren’t supposed to know about dragons.

But nothing stays secret forever.

Now Alita must accept that she alone can save her dragon from the dark clutches of Ruxsiu, a false king acting as ruler. Finding the true dragon king can save her best friend, but it isn’t something she can do alone. She must convince her boyfriend to help despite his disbelief in dragons and trust a strange old librarian in the race to save the only relic that can fix everything—the dragon’s pearl.

Guest Post from Evelyn Ink ~ Author of the Dragon Bone Series

About Book One:

A door that leads nowhere…
a key to open it.
A map of a land that doesn’t exist,
and a monster that does.

Four sisters; a hypochondriac scientist, a mordant writer, and two feisty twins aspiring to be pirates, set off to retrieve their eldest sister who has been kidnapped into an unknown world.

Their adventure involves a grim prophecy from the oracle Sybil, help from a rugged Viking named Barnabas, and the ever terrifying presence of Brakkus the dark-hooded villain who is in constant pursuit of them. The four sisters must work together to outwit the creature Brakkus, face their fears, and unravel the clues of the ominous prophecy to find their sister before time runs out…

“Follow the river of blood and you will find a coffin of leaves... You will find her in the clutches of two great forces seeking power. They both prowl behind curtains of violence, but one can deliver only evil and the other, possible freedom. The one you seek is in the jaws of the deliverers, but you must hurry, for like meat thrown to dogs she will be ripped apart.”

Guest Post:

Dear Readers,

My name is Evelyn Ink and I am the sad conveyor of the tales regarding the ill-fated Darlington sisters. I must warn you, nail biting danger and bad behavior leaks from every page of the Sticks, Stones, and Dragon Bones books.

Despite the redeeming aspects of this adventure (Vikings, pirates, a creepy oracle with bad teeth and a terrible prophecy) the escapades of the sisters are sadly marred by their distasteful conduct and poor choices. Bean, a resourceful and intelligent child of a scientific nature, sadly chooses to run headlong into dangerous situations at every turn. Paige, her older sister; a thoughtful and literary young woman with a rather pessimistic outlook on life, rarely bothers using her understanding of shady characters and bad situation to make cautious and prudent choices. Worst of all are the twins, Hayde and Dorrit, of whom live by their own set of peculiar rules (based loosely on the ideologies of piracy and not taking baths).

As a dedicated author I am obligated to record these terrible events from every poorly constructed insult to every illogical decision. However you, as a reader have no such obligation to read them, and I suggest you don’t. I’ve heard there are several fantastic books out about well-behaving gnomes, polite ponies, and tea-sipping princesses, perhaps one of those books might be more suited for you...

Sincerely,
Evelyn Ink

About Evelyn Ink:

The plaque on my lawn reads the Edgington Mansion, it was once thought to be lovely I suppose, though now rather decrepit and quite full of secrets. I live here with my husband. He is a philosopher, and quite mad. Our house is full of books. Stacked, piled, and always advancing out and away from the shelves that ought to keep them in. I paint and draw, write and read, and occasionally go down into the dark, dismal, cobweb-creepy dungeon, to do laundry.

If interested, you may choose to follow me on my blog or check in with me on facebook. However, due to my absolute terror of electronics and a crippling phobia of the social media (technical term: Socmephobia), my blog posts tend to be infrequent and erratic. Also, due to several post exile investigations I am generally prevented from giving any specific information regarding my whereabouts...

Mythology Giveaway Winner, some news and a (MAJOR) announcement!

Congratulations to  Ariell Larson!!  You have won a copy of Mythology by Helen Boswell!

An e-mail will be sent shortly.

And now, onto other news:

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  I know mine was spectacular!  I got to go see
Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey: Dragons (Yes, I am aware that this is only sort of related to writing)

Yes! I got to see a Dragon Show!!!
A huge THANK YOU to the best Sister and Brother (in-law) ever for taking me!
It was epic! (Plus, it was my first Circus ever!)

And tonight, I am going to see The Piano Guys in concert!!! Haven't heard of them? You're missing out!
(Yes, I am aware that this really doesn't have anything to do with writing.  Except for. . . it does.  Come back for Friday's Blog post to find out how they are related!)

Oh yeah! One more thing!
I have been putting this off for a while but have finally given in and done it.  I created my twitter account.
@KonstanzS
Follow me and I will follow you! :)

Just kidding, that wasn't the last thing. HERE is the last thing.

Here is the MAJOR Announcement I was referring to in the title of this post.

So, some of you may recall a post I did last year titled Are you an author? Do you know the one I am referring to? If yes, then I think you can guess what I'm about to announce.  If No, CLICK HERE to read the original post!

So here is the short rundown:

Last year I did The Twelve Books for Christmas.  I interview 12 authors (per blog, there were three blogs signed up). And each author gave away a book or two or three or twelve.  :)  And we did this for the twelve days leading up to Christmas.  It was a TON of fun and even though it was short notice last year, it got a LOT of attention.

So why am I telling you about this in September?  Well here is why:

Last year I posted the "Are you an author" post on November 30th and it was incredibly difficult to get everything set up and even with my handy-dandy best friend, we still struggled getting everything ready on time.

SO, I am telling you this because I am hoping to get more than 36 authors signed up for The Twelve Days of Christmas.  :)  Want to know more? Interested in signing up?  Want to read the rules?  Everything can be found HERE on this form!

There is a slight mistake in the form.  It does say that Interview Questions will be sent out within the next week.  This is not true.  I will slowly be e-mailing out interview questions as it gets closer to the actual event! But knowing which authors are signing up ahead of time will make it easier to build up some hype!

Oh and if you're worried about participating because you are Indie, don't!  Want to know why? CLICK HERE!

If you're worried about signing up because you are Traditionally published, don't!  Want to know why? CLICK HERE.

If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, please look at the form first and then feel free to comment or e-mail me!

Okay, now go fill out (or at least look at) the Sign up Form!

Epic things I got last week!

I know, I didn't post last week.  I'm sorry.  I have been super busy and I promise to stay on schedule this week!  And to start this amazing week off, I am sharing pictures of some of the epic things I got last week!

I got my first sword!  YAY!

I know I don't talk about this one much but I collect Masks.  :)  I got these two beautiful pieces this week!

Smiling and Frowning Drama masks.  This is a pendant my sister bought for me and gave to me this week!

My brother went on a road trip and came back with this for me! (Last week really was an incredible week for me!)

I bought this beautiful journal that I have wanted FOREVER!

The details are kinda hard to make out in the picture but my mother gave me this beautiful silver box.  A dragon is on top and another dragon wraps around the sides.  (See, three gifts in one week!)

SEE! And now you can begin to understand why I didn't blog last week!  I really was busy!  Have a great Monday everyone!

Back from Vacation

My vacation was fantastic!  I had so much fun!  We went to the M&M store, the Cocoa Cola store, the Aquarium in Mandalay Bay, AND I got to see some White Tigers!  (I was thinking of Ren and Kishan from the Tigers Curse series the entire time!)  Take a look!

Ren 1

Ren 2

Ren 2 behind the waterfall

Kishan (Sadly this black tiger is only a statue)

See!  It was awesome!  I really wish Ren and Kishan had transformed for me but I think they were afraid of all the witnesses.  But it was still fun to stop by and say hi to them!  (And if you haven't read the Tigers Curse series and have no idea what I am talking about please CLICK HERE immediately!)

Oh yes! And while I was visiting Ren and Kishan, I got to see this!

Totally awesome right?!?!?!

So after seeing Ren and Kishan I got to walk through hotels and see some fun stuff including this awesome guy on the ceiling!

Look at the awesome dragon!  Seriously, I want one! Or two. . .

AND let me just say, The Venetian is my FAVORITE hotel in Las Vegas!  Look at this beautiful awesomeness!

I was standing at the top of a waterfall inside the hotel when I took this picture.  A beautiful pond right in front of me and a mask inside a garden down further!

Amd so, Why was I in the Venetian?  Well because I went to see The Phantom of the Opera, of course!

That's right! I  got to go see The Phantom of the Opera before it closes in Vegas in September!  How was it?  Absolutely fantastic!  I LOVED IT! And I cannot wait to go see it on Broadway next year!

This is my 'Phantom' shirt!

This is a mask I got while in The Venetian/Palazzo!

AND this is a Stuffed Dragon my wonderful Brother (in law) helped me win when we went to Circus Circus!

Yep, totally one of the best vacations ever!
